BACHELOR OF SECONDARY EDUCATION

RESEARCH
Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) is a four-year degree board
program designed to prepare learners to become a high school teacher. The
program combines both theory and practice in order to teach students the necessary
knowledge and skills a high school teacher needs. The program aims to produce
competent teachers who provide a conducive learning experience to their students.
Study along this field is a broad scale of education concerns from learners’
development to educational practices. It includes but not limited to learners’
behavior, culture, learning styles, demographic profile in relation to learning
framework, and almost all field of human development. To fully comprehend to this
context, faculty and students should constantly engage into research activities to
address the different issues and concerns of the teaching and learning process
leading in the upliftment of educational process as a whole.

Strategic Plan of Cavite State University
By year 2022, Cavite State University aims to be recognized as a RESEARCH
UNIVERSITY (Figure 94). To achieve this, the following are the targets directly
related to research that are in place for years 2016 to 2022:
A. Year 2016-2018
1. Traditional to ISO-oriented management system
2. Research, Development and Innovation (with full funding support)
3. Research-based extension and community services
4. QMS/ISO certification
5. Quality Assurance level-up (ISA-AACUP)
6. Research and Innovation Centers

B. Year 2019 - Recognition
1. Accredited/recognized research journal
2. Regular publication in 1SI listed journal
3. Authors cited by Scopus
C. Year 2020 — Global University
1. Acknowledged as research university in the Philippines (CHED-PASUC)
2. International collaborative research activities in STEAM programs with
ASEAN universities/agencies
3. Internationally recognized researchers/professors and graduates
D. Year 2021 — Sustainability
1. Sustained initiatives in instruction, research, extension and resource
generation
2. Faculty researchers engaged in design and innovation (biotechnology,
nanotechnology, robotics)
E. Year 2022 — Recognized Research University
1. One of ASEAN acknowledged research universities
2. Graduate programs (Master's and Ph.D. degrees by research)
3. Institutionalized "no publish, no degree" in graduate programs
4. Regular research journal publications and listed in ISI
