BEST PRACTICES ADOPTED

1. Faculty researches are identified with their research specialization and serve as point person/
consultants in their fields.

2. Unified workload system is implemented to balance teaching, research, extension and strategic
functions of faculty.

3. Faculty and students avail the University wide research funds through the CvSU Research
Grant for faculty and the Faculty and Student Research Capability Enhancement Program
(FSRCEP) for students.

4. Researchers are given financial support for presentation, publication and patent application in
accordance to the respective approved incentive scheme.

5. ISO Quality Management System procedures are in place to standardize the research
procedures in the University.

6. In- House review of researches in the college and university level is conducted yearly to review,
monitor, and evaluate research.

7. CvSU has a Knowledge Management Center, KMC, which functions to manage (through the
data base MIS and Intellectual Property Management Division, (IPMD) and disseminate research
information (through the Publication unit). The University has its own CvSU Research Journal
and sustains monthly release of Reconnect, a research and extension newsletter. The University
has functional innovations and Technology Support Office, ITSO, and Knowledge and
Technology Transfer Office, KTTO, (under IPMD) which facilitate intellectual property registration
and commercialization respectively.
