2.2 The CvSU Internationalization Program Brief History*
INTERNATIONAL PRACTICUM TRAINING PROGRAM (IPTP)
True to its and vision of developing globally competitive graduates the CvSU
Naic Campus has reached its arm to give students a better training opportunities in
the international market. Following the International Practicum Training Program
(IPTP) of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) the CvSU Naic Campus has
been sending training to Singapore since 2000.
Through the International Practicum Training Program, the HRM students were
placed in accredited hotels and restaurants exposing students on the international
training standards in hospitality service. Aside from technical skills their immersion in
a progressive Singapore they were able to experience adjusts to different cultures in
foreign land.
Some of the students who undergo the international practicum were absorb in
the establishment and now supervisors and managers. Their credential in their
international practicum have given them the edge for an international employment
after graduation.
Since then, faculty coordinator were sent to monitor OJT training in the working
conditions as well as their safety in the dormitories. It was also during the actual years
of IPTP at Singapore and the visit of the faculty coordinator and industry coordinator
strengthen more linkages in the global market.
Because of some problems that happened in the implementation of the program
it was temporarily stopped. The IPTP program was not solely offered to CvSU but
also to other schools nationwide.
