Handling, Processing and New Product Development (Table X. Post-harvest and
food-security related studies of the faculty and student researchers of the FMSD).
One of the major project of the University under the FMSD just ended last
April, entitled Culture of Green Mussel Perna viridis using Environment Friendly
Method Near Urban Areas. The project was a part of the National Mussel S&T
Program of the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources
Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-
PCAARRD) (Table X. Mussel projects of the CvSU-Naic under the National Mussel
S&T Program). The other research project, which is an output of the former, is the
on-going pilot testing of mussel depuration facility, an LGU-led facility of Bacoor,
Cavite in partnership with the university.
