3.7 Administrative Support for Effecting Instruction
The governance of the University shall be vested in the Board of Regents
(BOR). The composition and qualifications of the members of the Board of
Regents, unless otherwise superseded by a more recent law or decree to that
effect, shall follow those specified in REPUBLIC ACT 8468, “AN ACT
CONVERTING THE DON SEVERINO AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE IN THE
MUNICIPALITY OF INDANG, PROVINCE OF CAVITE INTO A STATE
UNIVERSITY TO BE KNOWN AS THE CAVITE STATE UNIVERSITY”, 22 January
1998.
The Board of Regents is the highest authority in the University. The University
President serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board and is supported by four vice
presidents: VP for Academic Affairs, VP for Research and Extension and Continuing
Education and Training Services, VP for Administrative and Support Services, and VP
for External and Business Affairs, followed by the College Dean and then the
Department Chair. All activities related to instruction follow the hierarchy of
Organizational Structure for Instruction.
For effective instruction, faculty performance evaluation is periodically
conducted. The institution implements rules on the faculty, upon entry, the university
implements biometrics in checking attendance. Faculty members are required to
submit syllabus for each duly approved by the appropriate head, chair conducts
supervisory visits of classes and holds regular faculty meeting to ensure proper
conduct of classes.
The University has a system of awards and recognition of outstanding
achievement of the faculty. Students with exemplary skills in academic, sports, music
