College and Department Objectives Relevant to Research

College Objectives

Anchored to the research agenda of the university, the Cavite State University

– Naic Campus (formerly College of Fisheries), where the Bachelor of Science in

Fisheries degree program is offered, aims to:

1. produce technically-competent and scientifically oriented graduates who

are imbued with strong entrepreneurial spirit, possess strong social consciousness,

and guided by positive values and high ethical standards;

2. conduct relevant research and development activities along

agriculture and natural resource management that would contribute to

sustainable development in its service areas;

3. implement effective training and outreach programs that emphasize self-

help, critical thinking and life-long learning;

4. manage agricultural enterprise, projects and technology incubators to

promote economically viable and environment friendly approaches and techniques;

and

5. establish strong linkage with non-government entities and the basic sector

for the realization of the common goals.

Department/Program Objectives

In line with these college objectives, the Fisheries and Marine Science

Department (FMSD), which directly offers the course BSF program, functions to:

1. provide general fishery education that will produce efficient graduates and

employees and managers of fishery business enterprises;
