In 2017 to 2018, The MD in collaboration with other departments conducted
the Community-Based Production, Processing, and Marketing of Milkfish and
Tilapia Extension Project, a 2.5 Million pesos project funded by Commission on
Higher Education (CHED). Series of trainings, seminars and workshops on
production of milkfish and tilapia, processing of french style bangus, smoked
soft-boned bangus and spicy tilinggit as well as labeling, promotion, pricing and
distribution of the produced product were conducted with the Municipal
Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Council (MFARMC) members
in Naic as the beneficiaries. Moreover, in 2018, the Management Department
conducted its extension Food Technology Transfer and Business Management
project anchored in Batangan Extension Program at Barangay Bancaan, Naic,
Cavite. The extension was consisted of seminar on Business Management
Training with topic on “How to Start a Business” and a training-workshop on
Food Technology Transfer such as preparation of “Bangus Spread” and Bidbid
Longganisa participated with 60 women in the barangay.
The 2-day activity was a successful one as participants were looking
forward for more trainings which will enable them to be entrepreneurs
Table 4 shows the highlights of accomplishments of the project.
