Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) Syllabi
An outcomes-based syllabus for each course of the program is prepared by
the faculty before the start of the semester. The Syllabus contains the learning
activities and outcomes-based assessment which follows the suggested curriculum
delivery schemes and methods on the draft of CMO of the revised BSED curriculum:
1. selection of relevant education topics and issues
2. hands-on observation and discovery of the learning environment
3. classroom-based action research and problem solving
4. simulations and models
5. case studies
6. capstone projects
7. classroom discussion of current teaching approaches and pedagogy
8. ICT online models
The teaching strategies that are used in the program are enriched through
seminars, workshops, learning visits, cooperative learning, and computer assisted
instruction. The course requirements include group/individual
projects/reports/papers, performance activities, portfolio, and research study.
Program indicators (Table ) are used to assess if the outcomes have been
achieved. The following are the program indicators of the different outcomes of the
Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) program that are directly relevant to
research:
