BACHELOR OF SECONDARY EDUCATION
Level III Phase 2
INSTRUCTION
The Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) is an undergraduate
teacher education program designed to equip learners with adequate and
relevant competencies to teach in the area of specialization in the secondary
level. More so, it draws from various allied disciplines like social sciences, math,
technology, languages and humanities to ensure that graduates have
multidisciplinary preparations in content and pedagogy.
The BSEd program was offered in CvSU-Naic in 1997 prescribing the
same curriculum followed in the College of Education of CvSU Main Campus.
The curriculum, as utilized in the campus undergo three revisions; first, in 2008 to
satisfy the minimum requirements set by CMO No. 30 s. 2004; second, in 2012
where two university-mandated Competency Appraisal courses were integrated
in the BSEd and BEEd curriculum to assist the education students in their review
for the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET); and the third revision was
done in 2017, to satisfy the minimum requirements of the latest CMO regarding
Teacher Education, CMO No. 75 s. 2017. The revised BSEd curriculum being
utilized in the campus was passed through AA-COD Resolution Number 8, series
2018, submitted to CHED for approval and to be passed to the CvSU Board of
Regents for final approval.
CvSU Naic used to offer three specialization courses in BSEd, namely:
English, Science and Mathematics, however, specialization in Math was not
offered for the last two years due to the lack of Math instructor/ professor in the
campus.
