Level III Phase 2
2. ADEQUATE AND RELEVANT PROJECTS/ACTIVITIES TO ACHIEVE THE
OBJECTIVES
2.1. Update the curriculum to keep abreast with the latest trends in
hospitality.
The program Hotel and Restaurant Management, which was first offered
in School Year 1992-1993, is a four-year degree program offered under the
Management, Hospitality and Food Business Department.
A Curriculum Review and Development Committee is formed by the
Dean of the College/ Campus to review the existing curriculum. This is done
whenever a new curriculum is proposed with CHED Memorandum Order, upon
recommendations of accreditors or whenever deemed necessary. Curriculum
review is done in the University level, with participation of representatives of
branch campuses offering the same courses.
The proposed curriculum, done with representatives from faculty
members, students, parents and alumni, is deliberated by the College/ Campus
Academic Council before it is presented for approval by the members of the
University Administrative Council. Finally, the proposed curriculum is presented
for approval to the Board of Regents.
At present, after attending the curriculum review participated by the
faculty members of the university system, they changed the previous Bachelor
of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management (BSHRM) to Bachelor of
Science in Hospitality Management based on CHED Memorandum No. 62
series of 2017.
